The Nylon/Spandex fabric has a cool hand feel and 4-way stretch intended to make it a great warm-weather hiking pant that moves with your body in active scenarios. However, over the winter our T&E cadre came back with more intel - the Portal is also f*#king great in the cold, especially if you are Type A/never stop moving kind of guy.
